Saab Key Replacement
Car keys being stolen or lost is extremely annoying. It's cheap and easy to get a new car key if you have an additional key.

Keys stolen or lost

You'll need to open the case of your key fob to do this. This can be done by removing your emergency key from the fob. You can then employ a flathead to lift the fob's casing and expose the battery. Don't drop or pour liquids into the fob as it could damage the electronic components.

Since 1995 the year 1995, every Saab is required to have an immobilizer for the vehicle. This makes it almost impossible to steal a vehicle without a key. A transponder that is specialized for the vehicle must be incorporated into the keys to start the car and unlock doors. The key also needs a transmitter/transponder chip that needs to be matched with the car's computer module in order to work. This can only be done by an authorized dealer using a tool known as Tech-2 or other similar software.

Replacement
Owners of Saab automobiles manufactured between 1994 and upwards are advised to have at least two working keys for their vehicle.
